Asha Paul is a fresh face and she is being cast as the mother of Rathnam as a very aristocratic lady as the wife of a leading advocate. She is the wife of Pr. Paul Mani who is a friend of  the producer Suresh Kumar. Now there is a story behind Asha Paul, a very fragile story unlike the character she dons. She had an accident falling from a staircase during a trip to Ooty to visit her kids. This damaged her back and successive treatments further complicated her problems. At last she had Dr.Parthipan of KMCH replace 4 spinal discs and undergoing eleven surgeries. This results in the shots involving her from being from front.

Nandan would pass of as an ordinary youngster and in fact he is one. An assistant with art director Gokul he is an actor in the making . Well his smile is cute one can see him smiling happily on the sets and what makes it cute is that he doesn’t have two front teeth in the upper gum.  He dons the role of a manual labourer in the film. He first appeared in a song in Mulla. He is called as “Pengan” in the sets of Neelathaamara, well that being his pet name, who sticks around the Tharawad. Nandan lost his teeth in an accident and well he has managed to convert that to compliment his appearance. His positive throb lifts everyone in the sets. Never a dull moment when Nandan is around with his harmless comments and wits.

“Rathnam is the name of the character I portray in this movie. Unlike my earlier ‘ayyo pavam’ roles, the role Rathnam is that of a bold housewife. Rathnam is a bold housewife who openly expresses her problems without caring for others feelings. Rathnam is very possesive about her husband. She might seem as a character with negative shades, but she does everything right from her point of view. She boldly faces her mother-in-law without having the hesitations of a bride of that time.”

“This is my fourth film with Lal sir. I am blessed to play such a character in a movie scripted by MT sir and directed by Lal sir. I had grown up reading stories and watching movies penned by MT sir, but never in my dreams did it occur that I would be portraying the role of a character which he created.”

“It was a wonderful experience going back to college after becoming a celebrity. I am an alumini of St.Theresa’s college. My teachers, especially my Principal Sister Tessa, and my friends have been very supportive and helpful during my early days in cinema.”

“My teachers didn’t seem too excited. They behaved casually with me. Maybe that is because they have seen many actresses before me. The most excited of the lot were my juniors and the students from St.Theresa’s school. They were very happy telling everyone that I was their senior. When I would come out of my class, a big gang of students would come to me, take photos and ask for autographs.”
